Hello good people,
We have appreciated all of your support and encouragement thus far, but we need your assistance now more than ever!
The last two years we have been putting our blood, sweat, and tears into our upcoming album titled "Gumbo Grooves", but one of our major obstacles to releasing this project is our lack of financial stability. We've been blessed to get some paid gigs, sell some merchandise, and use our own pocket change to get this far, but the reality is that we need significantly more funding to release the project the right way. After paying our dues for the last 5 years, we really want to make some noise with these new grooves and potentially take our sound to the next level. EVERY DOLLAR HELPS!!!!
So spare whatever you can. Our goal is to reach $10,000 and we have put together an itemized list of where this money will be going. We also will be rewarding people for their donations based on how much they donate. Check it out below!
Recording $1125
The recording process took a few years because we were creating songs as we were recording. We had some bill collectors calling us as we were coming out of pocket to get our funk on wax.
Mixing $1500
We have the multi-talented Tony Ozier of the Doo Doo Funk All-Stars mixing down this project and making it sound oh so nice! But he expects some currency in return when its all said and done.
Mastering $1500
We've yet to find the mastermind to master our album, but we know how this process goes and we want to make sure we are prepared when the time comes.
Pressing Albums $700
In order to have something tangible to put in our supporters' hands, we will have to put some of this money towards pressing the album up.
Merchandise $1500
Our last order of shirts, hoodies, hats, stickers, bags, and buttons are reaching a critical low point..... Which is a good thing because it means people like us enough to parade around in public with our logo on their bodies. But its time to reup and create even funkier designs.
Listening Party $300
We want to have nice private listening party for those who are really investing in us and want to get a little taste of the flavor before we release it! We will also have a jam session for those who are aspiring musicians and artists like us, a photo booth to take pictures with the band, and an abundance of Adrian Adel's delicious cupcakes and chocolate dipped Strawberries.
Marketing costs $2000
Lets face it, we can't sell tapes out the trunk of our car anymore and get the attention we would like. People want to be visually stimulated with high quality music videos. We will need to pay for photoshoots because our amazing photographer is now our amazing singer, and they don't make selfie sticks long enough to capture the whole band. People will want to read about us in blogs, hear us on Pandora while their cleaning the house, have access to downloading our songs on their smartphones, and everything else 2015 has to offer.
Release Party $800
And of course we must celebrate the release of our album "Gumbo Grooves" with an epic line up of amazing bands and artists followed by the one and only Speaker Minds! We plan to have our party at Alhambra Theater in August, hopefully we can make that happen with your help.
