Speaking out on Mental Health
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Jeannine. I have set up this Go Fund Me Page for my kids dad who has taken his own life after battling mental health for months.
thank you so very much for all of you who have donated so far. The raised funds so far went to pay for funeral (cremation) and traveling expenses as there is no funeral home in our town. We are still getting a celebration of life organized.
we are still raising funds now to go towards lawyer fees and other expenses that are coming our way. Shawn’s kids are still under age and I’m a single mom now with Shawn gone and money is tight.
Shawn had taken his own life after battling with mental health, insomnia, and health issues for months. battling the health care system, doctors giving him medication one after the other, ignoring his cries for help. It seems that no one wanted to take him seriously.
Shawn was a great man. Father of two children which we adopted. Everyone who knew him could tell you stories that he shared of his children. He loved his children with his whole heart and took such pride in teaching them. He loved taking them fishing, hiking, swimming, bike riding and anything else that had to do with the great outdoors. He was so proud of his boys. He did everything he could do to love them, teach them and provide for them. He did this right until he took his own life.
His kids now have lost their dad who will not be there to watch them grow up and become the men I know he would be proud of.
Everyone who knew him would be happy to tell you their stories of happiness, laughter, how he could light up a room with his smile and laughter. He was an excellent leader in his church with the young men. They all enjoyed learning from Shawn and enjoying the lessons he had for them.
Shawn was always thinking of others and helping anyone that needed it. If it was from church members, to family and friends, to co workers or even a stranger, Shawn was there ready to share the shirt off his back.
The donations for this fundraising has helped pay for funeral cost. The rest of the raised money will help pay for any lawyer fees, etc. If we make it to our goal $5000 will be donated to mental health awareness and $5000 will be donated to suicide awareness in Shawn’s name to honour his legacy and help end the silent epidemic around Men’s mental health issue’s and suicide prevention.
let’s all get together and help Shawn’s kids reach their goal to help them like their dad always helped others. Let’s keep Shawn’s helping hand legacy going strong.

We love you dad. We will miss you but never forget you.
