Spectra Fundraiser: Toby Merrill Scholarship Fund
Tax deductible
“Toby, one of my best friends, passed away to gastric cancer at age 41. Remarkably, his last wish to his college friends was to pay it forward and create a 501(c)3 charity that provides scholarships for children who have lost a parent or faced adversity related to cancer. He wanted to make sure the impact of death or disease was not generational, preventing children from pursuing their own dreams and full potential.”
About the Toby Merrill Scholarship Fund
The Toby Merrill Scholarship was created to honor the memory of Toby Merrill, who lost his battle with gastric cancer on August 12, 2016. Through his final days, Toby was focused on developing a legacy by creating a nationwide scholarship helping kids who lost a parent too soon still be able to afford college. Toby wanted these kids to experience "not four years but a lifetime" as he did, to be pushed beyond comfort, and to grow into a potential they didn't know existed.
*Bryan is president of the nonprofit.
