Speedway COVID Community Relief Fund

Tax deductible
The Town of Speedway relies on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and its fans to bring in revenue throughout the year. The races at IMS, especially the Indy 500, have impacts on nearly everyone in town from businesses with increased patronage, residents renting space in their homes and yards to guests, special events, or not-for-profit groups volunteering to earn funds by parking cars.

Town officials have spoken with community leaders and totaled over $272,000 lost during 2020 due to the lack of fans in the stands at the races. This loss impacts many different aspects of life in Speedway and several organizations.

The organizations impacted include:

Speedway HS Music Boosters
Speedway Friends of the Library
Exchange Club of Speedway
Speedway-Motegi Exchange
Speedway Trails
Lions Club of Speedway
Speedway Parks Department
American Legion Post 500
Speedway UMC
Speedway Robotics
Speedway Athletic Boosters

The Exchange Club of Speedway will be accepting donations as part of their COVID Community Relief Fund. All donations will be given back to these organizations who have lost income due to changes from loss of race-time fundraising opportunities. We appreciate your support and hope to see you at the track in 2021!
