Unser neuer Report über die verheerenden Auswirkungen der Megaprojekte "Tren Maya" und "Interozeanischer Korridor" und den Widerstand gegen die kolonial-kapitalistische Ausbeutung des Südostens Mexikos ist nun auf spanisch erschienen (März 2025):

Vor über drei Jahren erschien unter dem Titel „Tren Maya Made in Germany. Die Deutsche Bahn und der Zug der Zerstörung“ ein ausführlicher Report über die Beteiligung europäischer und deutscher Unternehmen am Megaprojekt des „Maya-Zuges“ im Süden Mexikos. Die Arbeit war das Ergebnis einer internationalen Zusammenarbeit von Aktivist*innen aus Deutschland und Mexiko, die sich auf der „Reise für das Leben“ der revolutionären Zapatistas und des Nationalen Kongresses der Indigenen sowie vieler weiterer Organisationen und Kollektive zusammengefunden hatten. Erstmals wurde u.a. die DB als Akteur benannt – das Unternehmen welches sich in Deutschland selbst gerne als „schnellster Klimaschützer“ präsentiert, wie die weisungsbefugte Bundesregierung ignorierten die Kritik und den vielfältigen Protest, der sich in Folge des Reports gegen die Teilnahme am „Tren Maya“ richtete, und profitierten noch bis zum Mai 2024 von der massiven Umweltzerstörung und der Verletzung der Rechte indigener Gemeinschaften, Migrant*innen und Arbeiter*innen im Zuge des Prestigeprojekts der mexikanischen Regierung. International wurde in zahlreichen alternativen wie auch größeren Mainstreammedien auf die Recherchen zurückgegriffen. Im Zuge der Protestkarawane „El Sur Resiste“ wurde der Report ausführlich überarbeitet, tausendfach gedruckt und mit weiterem Material in die betroffenen Gemeinden gebracht. Er ist mehrfach übersetzt und frei zugänglich unter https://deinebahn.com/ oder https://www.ya-basta-netz.org/tren-maya-made-in-germany/. Vor Ort dokumentierten wir in zahlreichen Interviews die katastrophalen Auswirkungen der Megaprojekte, die sich nicht auf die Zugschienen beschränken: Begleitet vom Ausbau von Autobahnen, Häfen und Flughäfen werden Monokulturen, Immobilienprojekte, Tourismuskomplexe, Industrieparks und Raffinerien miteinander verbunden und führen, unter Kontrolle des mexikanischen Militärs, der Marine und der Nationalgarde zu einer „territorialen Neuordnung“ einer Region der Superlative mit einzigartige Ökosystemen, dutzende indigene Bevölkerungsgruppen und dem größten Migrationskorridor der Welt. Diese Beobachtungen werden aktuell in neues Info-Material umgewandelt, u.a. in einen neuen Report; eine Ausstellung; Audio-Kapseln für freie Radios; Bildungsspiele und Websites.
Wie immer soll das Material übersetzt, für alle frei zugänglich sein und kostenlos auch in die betroffenen Gemeinden im Süden Mexikos und im Norden Guatemalas getragen werden. Dies sehen wir als notwendige Arbeit der Infromation gegen die falschen Versprechen und Unwahrheiten der Regierungen und Unternehmen an. Damit dieses Vorhaben gelingt, sind wir auf finanzielle Unterstützung angewiesen. Eure Spenden unterstützen den Widerstand gegen die kapitalistisch-koloniale Erschließung eines „Südens, der widersteht“.
Der neue Report ist nun unter dem Titel "Resistir a los megaproyectos del capital del sur-sureste: Tren Maya y Corredor Interocéanico" ("Den Megaprojekten des Kapitals im Süd-Südosten" widerstehen: Tren Maya und Interozeanischer Korridor") erschienen. Den Druck in Mexiko konnten wir auch durch solidarische Spenden ermöglichen - nun benötigt es finanzielle Unterstützung für die Verbreitung und Übersetzung des Materials, welches auf mehreren Jahren Recherche beruht.

Hace más de tres años se publicó un amplio informe bajo el título «Tren Maya Made in Germany. Deutsche Bahn y el tren de la destrucción», un reporte detallado sobre la implicación de empresas europeas y alemanas en el megaproyecto del “Tren Maya” en el sur de México. El trabajo fue el resultado de una colaboración internacional entre activistas de Alemania y México, que se habían unido en la «Gira por la Vida» de los revolucionarios zapatistas y el Congreso Nacional Indígena, así como muchas otras organizaciones y colectivos. Por primera vez se nombró a DB como actor en el “Tren Maya”: la empresa, que en Alemania gusta de presentarse como la «protectora del clima más rápida», y el gobierno alemán, autorizado para controlar la empresa estatal, ignoraron las críticas y las diversas protestas que se dirigieron contra la participación en el «Tren Maya» a raíz del informe, y siguieron beneficiándose de la destrucción masiva del medio ambiente y de la violación de los derechos de las comunidades indígenas, de los migrantes y de los trabajadores en el transcurso del proyecto de prestigio del gobierno mexicano hasta mayo de 2024. A escala internacional, numerosos medios de comunicación, tanto alternativos como mayoritarios, se han basado en la investigación. En el transcurso de la caravana de protesta «El Sur Resiste» en 2023, el informe fue ampliamente revisado, impreso miles de veces y distribuido a las comunidades afectadas con material adicional. En numerosas entrevistas in situ antes y despues de la Caravana, documentamos los efectos catastróficos de los megaproyectos, que no se limitan a las vías del tren: acompañados de la ampliación de autopistas, puertos y aeropuertos, se están enlazando monocultivos, proyectos inmobiliarios, complejos turísticos, parques industriales y refinerías que, bajo el control del ejército, la marina y la guardia nacional mexicanos, están dando lugar a una «reorganización territorial» de una región de superlativos con ecosistemas únicos, decenas de grupos de población indígena y el mayor corredor migratorio del mundo. Estas observaciones se están transformando actualmente en nuevo material informativo, que incluye un nuevo informe; una exposición; cápsulas de audio para la radio libre; juegos educativos y sitios web.
Como siempre, el material se traducirá, será de libre acceso para todxs y se distribuirá e a las comunidades afectadas del sur de México y el norte de Guatemala. Consideramos que se trata de una necesaria labor de información contra las falsas promesas y falsedades de gobiernos y empresas. Dependemos del apoyo financiero para que este esfuerzo tenga éxito. More than three years ago, a detailed report entitled “Tren Maya Made in Germany. The German Railway and the Train of Destruction“ about the involvement of European and German companies in the megaproject of the “Maya Train” in southern Mexico was published. The work was the result of an international collaboration between activists from Germany and Mexico who had come together for the “Journey for Life” of the revolutionary Zapatistas and the National Congress of Indigenous Peoples, as well as many other organizations and collectives. For the first time, the DB was named as an actor – the company that likes to present itself in Germany as the “fastest climate protector”, as well as the federal government, which has the authority to issue instructions on the company, ignored the criticism and the manifold protest that arose from the report against participation on the “Tren Maya” and will continue to profit from the massive environmental destruction and the violation of the rights of indigenous communities, migrants and workers in the course of the Mexican government's prestige project until May 2024. The research was internationally referenced in numerous alternative and mainstream media outlets. In the course of the “El Sur Resiste” in 2023 protest caravan, the report was extensively revised, printed thousands of copies and brought to the affected communities with additional material. On the ground, we documented the disastrous effects of the megaprojects in numerous interviews, which are not limited to the train tracks: accompanied by the expansion of highways, ports and airports, monocultures, real estate projects, tourism complexes, industrial parks and refineries are being connected, leading to a “territorial reorganization” of a region of superlatives, under the control of the Mexican military, navy and national guard. This region is home to unique ecosystems, dozens of indigenous peoples and the largest migration corridor in the world. These observations are currently being transformed into new information material, including a new report, an exhibition, audio capsules for free radios, educational games and websites.
As always, the material is to be translated, freely accessible to all and distributed free of charge to the affected communities in southern Mexico and northern Guatemala. We see this as a necessary work of information against the false promises and untruths of governments and corporations. In order for this endeavor to succeed, we depend on financial support. We were able to print the publication in Mexico thanks to donations in the spirit of solidarity. Now, financial support is needed to distribute and translate the material, which is based on several years of research.
