Spirit of Giving Toy Drive
Donation protected
Shannon Glenn Apartments (Thrive at the Incline) and now Thrive at Park's Edge are two of the Apartments in Colorado Springs being evacuated due to asbestos. On 8pm Wednesday, December 4th tenants were told they had to be moved out by the 14th.
Being that this is all over the news I can't help but feel for these people. While watching another report last night, I saw a young mother who was being interviewed. She mentioned that she had to tell her young son that Christmas wouldn't be the same this year. My heart broke for her. I thought, "something has to happen here!" That was when a lightbulb went off! A TOY DRIVE!!!
I reached out to a local news channel, a few local businesses and the Children's Ministry Director, Stephanie Moore at my local church. Needless to say, with Stephanie's help, we have 4 locations for toy drop off donations and a fun event planned on the 21st for the families to pick the toys up. Please consider donating any kind of toy for any aged child. If you do not live in Colorado Springs or you simply cannot make it to one of 4 locations we have set up a GoFundMe account and 100% of the proceeds will go to purchasing toys for ALL of the kids affected my the asbestos evictions.
This drive is going to be active from now until December 19. With your donations we can put some smiles back on those faces of hundreds who have been through so much devastation...
Thank you so much!!!
Bless you all and Merry Christmas!
