Adam Michael Spittler, 27 years old, was recently diagnosed with a Germline Cancer called Choriocarcinoma.
Adam turned 27 on May 26th, ever since his birthday Adam had been feeling a little off, he had a hard time eating foods that he normally loved which led him to losing a bunch of weight, he went to see his primary care doctor on Monday, June 29th where she scheduled a CT scan to be done on Thursday but told him that if the pain got worse he should go to the ER. On Wednesday, July 1st he was having severe leg pain and ended up needing to go to the ER. He went to the Monroe hospital where they gave us information that he could potentially have cancer but they weren't sure what type or how severe.
After a long night of testing they realized that he had spots in most of his organs including his Lungs, Liver, and Stomach. They then decided to move him to a UW affiliate hospital for better care with more research. After arriving in Madison they soon found out that he also had tumors in his brain and on his spine which was causing the horrible leg and back pain. They did the biopsy and rushed the results, finding out using the biopsy that he has Stage Four Germline Cancer that had rapidly spread through his body. On Saturday they moved him to the main UW hospital, they have been taking excellent care of him and he is currently going through Chemo. He will be having surgery on his brain, and we have no idea what else will come along.
What we do know is that now it's his time to FIGHT!!! We need him to show all of his strength through this time and we KNOW that he will make it through this!!!
We have been overwhelmed in an amazing way with love and support from Adam's Friends, and also our own Friends and Family, many people have asked how they can help and we are just beginning this long and intense journey.
We hate to ask for monetary donations because love, support, and prayer is all we really want and need right now. If you do have it in your heart to want to donate money to Adam during this time he would greatly appreciate it, Adam has prided himself in having his BIG BOY TOYS, he has always worked his tail and without him working we will need to maintain those expenses and there will be quite a lot of medical expenses. Any money donated will be used to create a safe environment for Adam at home, and pay his bills and expenses.
We have a long road ahead and we want your love and support more than anything but if you would like to help ease the financial strain, we would greatly appreciate it. We love you all, and we are all TEAM ADAM!
