There are people that come into our lives and change it forever. If you’ve had the privilege of knowing Megan, you’ve witnessed her huge heart, her love of God, and the intense love she has for her family. Ty and Megan have literally traveled the globe to help others. They’ve helped countless kids and families through mission work, being foster parents, and would go to the ends of the Earth for their people.
This month, Megan was diagnosed with Breast Cancer - more specifically triple negative, invasive ductile carcinoma, stage 3. This type of cancer is very rare for a 36 year old, and highly aggressive.
As Megan and I sat and listened to the surgeon talk about treatment, prognosis, and next steps, it was heavy. Too heavy for me, but not Meg. As I was trying to wrap my head around medical jargon, Megan’s only disappointment came when hearing the doctor advise her not to go to Uganda this summer. “But those are my kids.” She was referring to her work with Hope Lives Aloi. When you have a minute, do a quick search and learn about the impact they’ve made. They have been doing this since 2019. It’s impossible to know how far her reach has spread, and to how many individuals.
Megan’s treatment will be a combination of traditional cancer treatment, coupled with wholistic approaches. Megan will start chemo in Cheyenne on December 22nd.
Since this type of cancer is very rare for someone her age, she is working with her doctors to find treatment clinics where she might be able to partake in clinical trials. They’re also looking for doctors who are more specialized in her situation. This would take her out of state and away from home and work.
We ask that you lift Ty, Megan, and their boys up in prayer as we pray for her healing. To know the Andersons is to love them. I plan to set up a few things to support them in the coming months.
If you have the means and feel so inclined, you can donate to this Go Fund Me page. If you’re local, you can also donate through Crossroads Community Church. These funds will be distributed directly to the Andersons. We will also be working on a meal train and hope to have a fundraiser in the spring. If you have any additional ideas or would like to help, please reach out.
Most importantly, please keep the Anderson Family in your prayers. This is our opportunity to help and support them. Please consider donating if you have the means and continue to pray for comfort, peace, and healing for Megan and her boys.
