Mongol Rally 19_Team Spoiler Alert
Donation protected
Hi Everyone :)
We are Andie, Kurt and Debbie and this summer 2019 we will be participating in the Mongol Rally as Team Spoiler Alert! We will be driving over 10,000 miles from Malta to Mongolia in our little Fiat Panda in aid of three awesome charities.
The Mongol Rally has three simple rules:
1. You can take any car, as long as it's engine is 1.2 litres or smaller
2. You are on your own – that means no backup or support
3. You have to raise £1000 for charity
We are doing this because we love road trips, but above all to raise money and awareness for a good cause.
As part of the rally rules, the first £500 raised must go to the official rally charity, Cool Earth. The rest of the money raised will be split equally among our two chosen charities. We have chosen to support a charity in each of the two places closest to our hearts; our childhood home Malta and our current home Manchester.
Team Spoiler Alert is proud to be supporting the following charities:
Inspire https://inspire.org.mt/
Inspire is a Malta-based charity that helps over 1000 individuals with various disabilities ranging from Down Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy and others. Inspire believes that everyone has a right to equality and inclusion. They do this by providing individuals with disabilities and their families with educational, therapeutic and leisure services. Inspire also advocates for inclusion, educates the general public, raises awareness among peers, and holds the best knowledge base on disability on the island.
Lifeshare https://www.lifeshare.org.uk/
Lifeshare is a charity established to meet the needs of people in Manchester and Salford who are homeless, vulnerable or marginalized. Their projects engage with those in need and provide information, practical assistance and support both in times of crisis and over the longer term to help them return to self-sufficiency. Lifeshare believe that all people regardless of race, ethnicity, sexuality, gender, age, level of ability or HIV status are entitled to respect and dignity and should be afforded equal opportunities.
Cool Earth https://www.coolearth.org/
Cool Earth is a UK-based international NGO that works diligently on saving our rainforests and the communities in and around them. They don't create reserves or put up fences, they put the control of the forest in the hands of the people who care about it most, its inhabitants. Cool Earth aims to create strong, self-determining indigenous communities with the goal of ending the cycle of deforestation.
There is no doubt we will break down, pop tyres and get lost along the way. It won’t be an easy feat driving a rusty pile of metal across 1/4th of the world’s surface, so we would really appreciate your support in reaching our travel and charity fundraising goals!
