Sponsored walk of the Capital Ring for Peru

Hi, my name is Talia and I am raising money to go to Peru for 4 weeks with Camps International in the summer of 2024. This trip is an amazing opportunity and consists of community project work, for example, helping to improve infrastructure in local villages and planting saplings for reforestation, and a 5-day trek to Machu Picchu.

I want to make it clear: this is not just a holiday! We will be helping the locals build infrastructure, like toilets, houses and medical facilities and conserve wildlife (by planting saplings, creating waste management solutions and recycling projects). These things have a positive impact on local communities because Camps International has permanent camps and employs local people year round who understand what's needed in the local area.

Of course, a lot of money has to be raised for this, and one of the things I am doing to fundraise is this sponsored walk of the Capital Ring, which I will be completing in 9 consecutive days, in the May half-term holiday 2023. This will be a challenge, as the walk is 78 miles, meaning I will be walking around 8-10 miles a day.
