How to Start Sponsoring a Child at Good Hope School

Your sponsorship of just $0.99 per day provides a child with food, clothing, bedding, school supplies, medical care, and school fees. Here's how to get started:

1. Choose a Child

Review the profiles and select the child (or children) you’d like to sponsor.

2. Make Your Donation

Click the 'Donate Now' button and contribute $363 (USD) for the year or $121 per term. Please pay in full upfront to reduce admin efforts (if you can) or make term payments on these dates:

- Term 1 (Jan-April): $121 by January 15

- Term 2 (May-Aug): $121 by May 15

- Term 3 (Sept-Dec): $121 by September 15

Adjust the GoFundMe tip slider if you wish—this goes to the platform, not the school.

3. Receive Confirmation

After donating, you’ll receive a receipt from GoFundMe. Look out for a follow-up thank-you message with instructions to confirm your sponsorship by email. It's important that you reply to that email!

4. Stay Connected

Our team will send updates throughout the year, and term payment reminders for ongoing sponsors.

Sharing a Sponsorship

You can share sponsorship costs with family or friends—just let us know. If you'd like help being paired with someone, we’re happy to assist.

Commitment to the Children

We ask for a minimum 2-year sponsorship to provide stability for the children. If you need to stop, please notify us so we can find a new sponsor.

Communicating with the Kids

We prefer to communicate with the children via WhatsApp and email, with messages shared by the School’s Director, Learning Support Officer, and Social Worker.

Short WhatsApp videos are a fun way to show the kids your surroundings, family, or pets—they love encouragement, greetings, and simple check-ins like “How was your day?” You can also write letters and send photos of them via email or WhatsApp.
