Sponsor school fees for Ukrainian children

Welcome,

Our names are Agnieszka Swiatlowska and Beke Bertram-Toft.

We are both parents at a Steiner School in Australia. While our children are enjoying this education and we as parents are fortunate enough to provide this opportunity for them, and the peace of mind and joy that comes from this, we also find ourselves as part of a national and international community of Waldorf schools.

The beauty of being part of a worldwide community also means being there for each other when we are in need.

In our case we have connected with Sofia Steiner School in Kiev and specifically asked about their needs.

We’ve learnt the school has many families who are unable to cover school fees. At such an unimaginably difficult time the rhythm and normality of going to school each day is a vital sanctuary for children.

From conversations with one of the teachers we can hear the children expressing:

“Please give us a chance to learn at our school this year”

“We have many names, we used to go to Sofia Waldorf School and we loved our school.

Yet, we are not sure if we can go to school this year.

Our country is at war, some of us have lost our homes or flats, our fathers are on the frontline.

Our mothers do their best to give us “normal life”, but they do need your help.”

“The truth is our stability is gone.

Every day we face the unknown, which we learn to embrace.

We want to go to school. We want to meet with our school friends and teachers.

We want to write, draw, and paint, we want to play music, perform, celebrate festivals like in the previous years.

To be able to do this, we need your help.”

OFFER THE GIFT OF STEINER EDUCATION

Yearly tuition fee at Sofia Waldorf School is AUD 1,200.

We are striving to enable 10 children to go to school and learn.

Every single dollar goes straight to school, to cover the tuition fees.

So please donate a gift of education to a child. Together we can help some of them.
