DeKalb PATH Academy is a public charter school that was created as a safe space for students to learn in a challenging academic environment that supports local immigrant and refugee families in our connected community at large. Founded in 2002, PATH has continued to be a loving, nurturing, and academically rigorous space for generations of students over the course of twenty years. PATH continues to equip students with the tools they need to pursue a life passion while enriching their community.

The last three years have been rough on our students. They have had to struggle to learn in the midst of a pandemic and get to know their classmates through Google Meet and Zoom.

Now that we are finally in the school building full-time, it’s time to give them the opportunity to explore, and experience hands-on learning about this world and beyond. What better way to do this than by going on a field trip? And not just any old field trip, we’re talking about a 3-day 2-night Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama for 6th and 7th-grade students who rarely get a chance to go outside of their neighborhood.

This is more than a field trip. It is an opportunity of a lifetime for children who have not yet imagined Space Camp as a possibility that can create opportunities.
