Fund the Annual Youth Summit for Georgia's LGBTQIA Students
Tax deductible
Each February we invite LGBTQIA+ youth, supportive educators, and parents from all over Georgia to join us for a free day of education, entertainment, advocacy, and fostering friendships. Georgia Safe Schools Coalition, the non-profit that facilitates the LGBTQIA+ youth summit every year, is asking for your help to fund our 2025 gathering.
This event is important every year, and it is particularly vital in 2025 as we face prejudices from all levels of local and federal political offices.
We are asking for $10,000 to support one day of workshops, food, art, and connection. Consistent with attendance rates over the past several years, we expect to feed and provide programs to 400 attendees. Many youth show up hungry to our daylong event, so it has been important to us to feed them breakfast and lunch.
Workshops cover topics such as identity exploration, being religious and queer, how to start and maintain a supportive LGBTQIA+ club at school, art as a means of communication, mental health, the body as a site of liberation, writing workshops, and more. One of our most popular yearly panels gives youth a chance to ask supportive parents questions they might not be able to ask their own parents.
During lunch we host our very popular resource fair, and we also offer free HIV testing. The day ends with a very lively talent show where we celebrate and applaud Georgia's very talented LGBTQ+ youth and announce the winners and runners up for our two scholarships.
Now more than ever, we need to rally behind our queer youth. Please join us by funding a day of programs, food, and community for LGBTQ youth!
$1,000 helps us fund 1 scholarship for a LGBTQIA student
$500 supports paying for attendees ride share costs.
$250 covers lunch for 15 youth.
$150 pays for art supplies for our art liberation space.
$100 pays to print our agendas.
$5 covers a swag bag for 1 youth.
