Sponsor the Path to Elite National Commissaire
Donation protected
If you've raced your road, mountain, or cyclocross bike in the Northeast in the last decade, odds are you've seen me at your races. I'm one of the blue-shirted officials that helps turn your ride into a race. Why? Because I found a wonderful community here in the racing world. I found a team, in Baltimore Bicycle Works Racing, that's proud to have a non-racing member and encouragement from everyone anytime they see me in my travels across the country.
I began my work as an official on the ground, then as the assignor for MABRA officials. I've taken every class that USA Cycling has available to progress my career. Now it's time for me to take my next step to serve racers and the community in bigger ways, and try to make my bid to work the Olympic Games in 2028 in Los Angeles. How am I going to do that? By taking a class offered by the UCI to possibly become an Elite National Commissaire for Mountain Bike. I've been accepted to the first in-person class since the pandemic...in Baden-Baden, Germany. The class is the stepping stone to becoming an International Commissaire. This class is a great opportunity and I can't let it go. However, when I signed up for this class in March, it was supposed to be an online class and now it's in Germany and with five weeks' notice I need to be there and ready to test. This is something I have to do on my dime with my vacation time.
I'm asking my community in the racing world to sponsor my travel and other fees so that I can continue to turn rides into races.
Note: In the event that donations exceed the cost of this endeavor all remaining funds will be transferred to MABRA and earmarked to pay for the training of new officials to make sure that others have the opportunity to learn and grow in their officiating careers. The goal for the fundraiser was updated on 10/10/2024 based on the generosity of donors and to reflect the total cost of the training.
