16 days of Activism- Sponsored Silence for the Sky Project

A large majority of victims of forced marriage do not have the confidence to speak out for fear of guilt and dishonouring their families and peers. Victims often feel isolated with nowhere to turn to for help and no one they feel they can trust to speak out to about their situation. We cannot let this continue and actions speak louder than words.

In support of the Sky Project and 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence Campaign, which runs from November 25th to December 10th (Human Rights Day), Zara Liedl Carroll our Fundraising and Volunteer Co-ordinator at the Sky Project, will be taking part in a 12 hour sponsored silence in remembrance of forced marriage and 'honour' based abuse victims. The sponsored silence will take place on Sunday 1st December.

We will not forget all of those who have sadly lost their lives as a result of 'honour' based abuse.

All proceeds will be donated to The Sky Project (charity number 1186737) to help further their vital training and awareness of forced marriage and honour based abuse.
