Sponsoring Diverse CppCon 2019 Attendees
Don protégé
The goal of #include <c++> is to help make the C++ community more inclusive. Last year, you helped us raise $4,000 USD to send five women to CppCon. This year, we would like to raise money again and send five more people from diverse backgrounds to CppCon, with the option to cover accommodation and travel.
We will consider any candidate from an under-represented background with regards to the usual CppCon attendees. It can be gender related (women, trans people, non binary people among others), geographical (less represented areas), heritage, health or body related (attendees with reduced mobility, blind people, etc), career path related (long time jobseekers, career changers), sexuality (LGBQ+) or people with specific financial issues.
The CppCon organisers will provide a ticket for the discounted price of $300 USD, and have kindly offered the additional support of administering the conference and travel tickets: many thanks to CppCon for their support and participation!
In addition to a ticket, some candidates need help with their travel and lodging expenses, which can cost between $1,000 and $3,000 USD per attendee, depending on where the candidate is and the accommodations they need.
If this fundraiser gathers more than needed for CppCon, any surplus funds would go towards the next similar fundraiser.
Many thanks for your interest and support!
