Spotted Cat Musician Relief

Donation protected
While the rest of the world gets excited over Holidays in December, April is “the most wonderful time of the year” in our Frenchmen Street -New Orleans World. This April, we had Crescent City Classic, NCAA Women’s Final Four, French Quarter Festival, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, and numerous conventions and meetings scheduled, promising a month to remember.

On March 15, 2020, we closed our doors to prevent the catastrophic spread of the COVID-19 virus.

The Spotted Cat Music Club had 442 professional musicians scheduled to perform during the month of April. That’s over 100 musicians a week that depended on playing in our humble little stage to meet their livelihoods! April would have provided so much joy for our local, national and international patrons and would have given the musicians an opportunity  “to stack their chips” before the seasonal low of New Orleans summer. Our local musicians are extremely passionate about their craft and with unemployment being a limited option for them as “gig workers”, making ends meet during this time is exponentially tougher.

The Spotted Cat Family implores our past, present, and future supporters of our venue for donations of any size to provide a bit of hope and assistance during this historically crisis. Our goal of $44,200 will be equally distributed amongst the musicians who were already scheduled for the month. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
