Destiny & David: Getting Married & Not Departing!

Dear Family, Friends, and Kind-Hearted Strangers,

Those of you who know us, know our story, but for those having found their way here; what follows is both a little context of our adventure and the reason why this GoFundMe page has been created…

Our story began with a woman in California and a man in England; both desiring to meet new people and create lasting bonds but little did we know upon the first hello we’d fall head over heels for each other.

Two years ago, we were blessed to have found exactly that, we have found love, the kind of love to fight for.

After endless hours of audio/video conversations, timezone juggling(8 hour difference), traveling back and forth across the ocean from the US to the UK.

Our bond then strengthened into an engagement!

Like many others that know the pain of a long distance relationship, we knew the road would be hard… But, We love each other deeply and have worked very hard to make our relationship work despite the odds and the ocean dividing us. For both of us, there is no-one else we are meant to be with, or want to be with. It is true that long-distance relationships are not for the faint of heart. Our hearts are not faint. Our love is unbreakable. As such, we will not give up on bridging the distance.

What you are contributing and what we are asking for, put quite simply; is a Wedding Gift, a truly great gift at that.

Please understand, we don’t want things/possessions, we only want to be with each other. At this point in our story our barriers are solely financial.

Those of you reading this that know us will know we wouldn’t ask for anything unless we really needed it, with that in mind we know this is not a small ‘ask’. We acknowledge this because we want you all to know that any financial support with this journey of ours will not be wasted, nor will your contribution and help ever be forgotten.

Where will your contribution be going? Here are the hurdles we have ahead:

- Visa Sponsorship: we have taken the first steps and applied and got approved for Fiancé visa but Once we have married we will then need to pay for an additional Spouse/Marriage Visa (Currently £1,048 for every 2.5 years)

- Health Care: In order for Destiny to have residency within the UK as a USA national she will have to pay the upfront cost for the NHS (National Health System) for the duration of her Spouse Visa until she can apply for a UK citizenship after 5 years (Currently £2,587.50 every 2.5 years)

- Additional Costs: There are multiple forms of hidden costs throughout this process including Processing Fees, Travel and Moving Costs, etc.

These funds will help to get Destiny her visa and thusly residency with David in England. The greatest wedding gift that we could receive is that of being together and not having to count our days until we eventually say goodbye again. Your contribution however small will make this a reality. Our deep desire naturally is to live life together.
