Please help us to embrace Jose Hernandez and his family during this difficult time. Jose's beloved wife, Felisha, went to be with Jesus on Monday, June 17, 2019. Felisha was courageous in her year-long battle with cancer. Jose was blessed to be married to Felisha for twenty-three years and they have a daughter, Isabel, who is fourteen years old. Whenever Jose speaks about his wife, he refers to her as his "Lovely Wife". The love for his wife is transparent through his words and the passion in his voice. He describes a woman that made him a better person, a woman that knows no strangers, a woman that has a passion to help others and a woman who is an incredible mother to her daughter. There is always a sparkle in his eyes when he shares an experience or a fond memory of his "Lovely Wife".
Felisha earned her Master of Arts Degree in Counseling in May 2002. She opened the Garland Christian Counseling Center in 2007 where she provided refuge for those struggling with the challenges of life. Felisha greeted everyone with warmth and kindness. It is very important to her for her daughter to have the opportunity to pursue a higher education.
Many have asked if there is anything, they can do to help the family during this time. Fortunately, Jose and his family are surrounded with much support by family and friends.
In lieu of flowers or food, a GoFundMe page has been set up to assist Isabel in pursuing her education and dream of becoming a veterinarian.
