Spreading a bit of Bayview ‘banter’ in hard times
Hi we are from Glenfield Part Of Bayview Child Care a local Children’s Residential service. Thank you for reading about our community work.
Here’s a little bit about us …..
We have 5 children in our care at the moment from ages 8-16, and Despite Our children’s traumatic early lives, again this year we are raising money for local children & families who are also going through tough times.
This Christmas, our oldest boy left us to start his own life in semi independence and leaving care has been a very scary time for him.
In this time he has found Morecambe food bank a vital service and has had to use them when times are hard, which is the stark reality of lots of children who move on from residential.
In fact Morecambe food bank have helped 7806 Adults and children in Lancaster & Morecambe and the surrounding areas who were fed between 01.12.22 and 30.11.23.
We would like to raise awareness about the struggles of our beloved children leaving care, and at the same time help people in our local community who are struggling in this cost of living crisis.
We aim to do this by providing a 7 week Bayview ‘Banter’ extravaganza where our staff and children will take part in a cold water dip, full day comedy film- a- thon and gaming marathons. As well as producing and staring in various productions for your (in house) viewing entertainment.
We aim to finish off the fundraising on 13.3.24 with a night to remember,
Holding a Bayview Child Care mini awards ceremony for all our staff and young people.
During the evening We will announce the winners of our competitions leading up to the event, followed by Bingo and leading to our Main Event where our Amazing Operations Director will have his lovely black locks shaved off in the name of charity and community spirit.
To finish off the evening we will have some music and entertainment, as well as an award ceremony to celebrate how special and loved each person at Bayview is and how lucky we are to have such wonderful connections with each other in these tough times.
We hope you can appreciate the staff and children’s hard work and get behind us to raise even more money than last year for what is a wonderful community lifeline.
Please donate as much as you can ❤️
