Donation protected
Hello Family and Friends,
My name is Astra Armstrong. I am currently a graduating senior, Business Management major at the illustrious Norfolk State University where I serve as the Student Government Association President for the 2018-2019 school year. Throughout my collegiate experience, I have been afforded numerous opportunities to enhance my matriculation and growth. I have been presented with yet another opportunity for the spring of 2019: a chance to study abroad in Costa Rica. This trip will take place during the second week of March during spring break. The dates are March 1, 2019- March 10, 2019 During this time, I will be completing a service project teaching English to underprivileged schools and communities in San Jose. In addition I will have the opportunity to visit sites, attend seminars, take a salsa dancing class, try Spanish cuisines, and take part in interactive discussions with activists, cultural workers.
This will be my second time studying abroad. With only a few more months left of my senior year experience, I feel more excited than ever to go! Through this opportunity, I hope to learn more about the language and culture. Since high school, I have had the desire to learn Spanish. Traveling to Costa Rica will help me get closer to this goal, while also allowing me to engage in personal development, new friendships, and new interests. My ultimate hope is that I will be become more open-minded and gain a better appreciation for different places and cultures in the world.
The payments for this trip include a $100 deposit and a remaining deposit of $2,800. These payments include my flight, living arrangements,Official program certificate, three excursions, two meals per day and in-country travel to and from my designated work site. The remaining $100 will cover other costs such as food, souvenirs, and leisurely activities. I would greatly appreciate any donation towards this study abroad trip! Please remember that no amount is too small. I am thankful for your interest in my goals and growth at NSU.
I ask for warm wishes and safe prayers throughout this journey. I cannot wait to share about this experience upon my return!
