Spring Events Ovid-Elsie Alternative High School

Greetings, my name is Mary Levey and I am the director and a teacher at Ovid-Elsie Alternative High School. Each year the staff has a goal of providing cultural and social events for the students of OEAHS. Many times, for economic reasons, students do not participate in events and field trips. It is our goal to provide an opportunity for students to attend the Flint Institute of Art to view art and then an opportunity to participate in a studio project, noting that many students have never had an opportunity to walk through an art museum. In addition, annually we like to host an affordable prom for students, this is an opportunity to celebrate with peers and an ending to the school year. Support from the community, family, friends and colleagues makes these goals a reality.
