Springer Spaniel - A225496

This dog was picked up by an Animal Control Officer (ACO) at 10:00 p.m. on July 18th at the intersection of Immokalee Rd and Oil Well Grade Rd. The ACO rushed the dog to the Emergency Pet Hospital (EPH) for needed care. The dog spent the night at EPH on the night of the 18th and was transported to Domestic Animal Services (DAS) in the morning. The dog was under constant supervision with the Shelter Veterinarian on Wednesday, but his condition did not improve so he was transported back to EPH by an ACO. He  came back to the shelter Thursday morning and his condition was guarded. He was non-ambulatory and he needed a urinary catheter. He has bruising on his lungs, and the vets at EPH suspect pneumonia. He has head trauma with possible Horner's Syndrome. He also has multiple abrasions and wounds. He is also not eating and we are managing him with IV antibiotics, fluids, and pain medication. He was transported to Animal Specialty Hospital (ASH) yesterday afternoon for around the clock care and observation. His condition is still guarded and he is on oxygen. In addition to his injuries, he also has fractured ribs. We are keeping him at ASH on supportive care but we really need help with donations to pay for his vet care. He needs more diagnostics that we aren't able to approve without help and donations. We are already over $2,000 in supportive care since he was picked up by the Animal Control Officer on the night of the 18th. Please consider donating to help with his continued, lifesaving care.
