Spring's Medical Expenses

Our family was forced to say goodbye to our beloved Spring Jewel on Sunday, July 2nd after a tumultuous fight with sudden illness. Spring has been a happy and healthy member of our family for almost 24 years and lived a wonderful life alongside her sister, Sally's Spirit.
Spring suddenly fell ill in what we initially believed was a severe colic, but turned out to be a severely strangulated lipoma in her bowel. Despite every effort to diagnose what was wrong and after exhausting every possible treatment option, the only remaining chance was to take her into emergency surgery to find the exact problem and correct it. At that point the surgeon discovered a lipoma, which is a benign fatty tumor, had strangulated a portion of her small intestine and damaged her GI tract. The lipoma was removed, but unfortunately recovery from this type of operation is very difficult and it proved to be too much for our dear Spring to endure any longer. Although we held fast to hope and prayer that she could pull through, we could not make her suffer any longer.
Through it all Spring remained exceptionally strong, and did not fully show us how much pain she must have been in. We are completely devastated to lose such a beautiful, graceful, kind, and willing companion. However, we are able to rest assured that we did absolutely everything in our power for her and we take solace in the fact that we were finally able to ease her pain.
This has been extremely difficult on our family and proven to be very costly both emotionally and financially. Although we cannot put a price on the loss of our beloved Spring, we have now amassed over $11,000 in medical bills. We have been blessed with an outpouring of love and support from friends and family and we are very grateful to know Spring was loved by so many. Any help we receive during this time of mourning will be tremendously appreciated. We plan to have a small private celebration of life, but will be taking time to grieve and recover in the coming weeks.
