Sprinting for Stef

On Sunday 30th September, there will be a team of people running the Ealing Half Marathon. Sprinting for one person. Sprinting for someone who was incredibly special. Sprinting for someone who made a massive difference in a very short period of time she was with us…
Sprinting for Stef Lana O’Connor.
It will have been 5 months and 6 days since this wonderful spirit left us behind.
Stef had just celebrated her 35th birthday when cancer took her away from us and left her two beautiful little girls behind. We’ll be running to ensure they have the best possible future!
Inspirational, courageous, tenacious, a real go-getter, Stef really cared about the people she had in her life and we were all the better for having known her. She was a truly loveable, funny, witty, charismatic, beautiful, brave and caring woman. She could light up a room with her smile, charm, wicked sense of humour and boy was she loud and proud!
Last year Stef spurred a team on at the Ealing Half as we limped over the finishing lines, this time we’ll have that voice loud and clear ringing in our ears telling us to get a move on at those points where we feel our legs just can’t carry us any further. Through all her suffering she kept on smiling and putting on a brave face for everyone else – whatever suffering we go through on the day, it’s not even a drop in the ocean of what she went through and it will all be for her girls.
So, spare some spondula as we Sprint for Stef on the last Sunday in September!
