Lay Dave to rest

The following was written by Dave’s beautiful granddaughter

Dear friends, family, and kind strangers,

It is with heavy hearts that we come to you during this difficult time to seek your support. Our beloved Dave Welch has passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. As our family grieves this shocking loss, we are faced with the daunting task of arranging his final farewell which is still being determined based on funds.

Dave was a father, brother, and grandfather who touched the lives of many with his infectious spirit. Whether it was through his photography and art, reassuring words, or extroverted personality, he made an undeniable impact on everyone he encountered throughout the course of his life. He met many likeminded individuals who valued the arts as he did through the compositions he would make and share with the world. He also loved animals, especially his dog Axel. They would spend their days watching the sunset over Cocoa Beach, Dave snapping pictures along their walks.

Unfortunately, his simple yet beautiful life was cut exponentially short due to pneumonia caused by a traumatic brain injury after a fall.

It saddens us deeply that the financial burden of arranging a funeral has added to the already overwhelming emotional strain on our family. We are reaching out to you in hopes of receiving your support during this challenging time. Your contributions will go towards covering the costs of Dave's funeral arrangements, including transportation, memorial and/or cremation services.

In honoring Dave’s memory, we vow to celebrate his life and legacy with dignity. He did not have many materialistic things to his name, but if nothing else, he would give you the shirt off of his back. In memoriam, please consider giving back in the way truest to him as a person.
