I'm Kendra, Pat's oldest daughter. As many of you know my Mom started having seizures in May. At the time they found a very small lesion on the right rear lobe of her brain. Over time she started to struggle with her cognitive abilities and eventually lost use of the left side of her body. At this time my dad took her to the emergency room despite having an appointment coming up that week. They did a CT scan and found the small lesion had aggressively grown into a large tumor. She was scheduled for surgery to remove it and it came back as a stage 4 Glioblastoma. This was honestly my worst fear. Working as a radiation therapist I had suspected this all along, but was hoping I was wrong. The prognosis for this is not good, but we know she has so many people praying for her... And we appreciate you all so much. She had a specific tumor marker come back that indicates she should respond well to treatment which is great news. Regardless her road ahead will not be an easy one.

I've had so many people reach out and ask how they can help. Anyone who knows my mom, knows her children, grandchildren and great grandchild are her pride and bring her more joy than anything. Unfortunately we all live very far from her which makes this situation even harder on us all. I know financially things are not easy for a lot of people right now, so more than anything your prayers are so appreciated. I just thought I would start this for those who are able and feeling led to help in this way. More than anything, I know I personally, want to be with her as much as possible and I'm sure it's the same for my brothers. This will be used to help us all be able to see her, while taking the financial stress aspect out of it. Currently, she is home, as of yesterday. She's wanted to go home so badly, so I'm so glad she's finally reached this point. My Dad is taking SUCH good care of her!! So he deserves a big shout out! She started her 6 weeks of chemo and radiation this past Tuesday. So far she's doing well! I will be sure to update here on her progress!
