SR 2023 need atty $ after having seizure

We r trying to help Abbie Sowards collect up Atty retainer fee after having a seizure at school and being accused of being on drugs. Read her story! Please help this senior 2023 get back to school to walk across for her diploma!

Hello I want to tell you my story. I have Psychogenic Non epileptic seizures which started in my sophomore year. My seizures our Brought by anxiety and stress not because I use drugs. Over the last two years there have been rumors from teachers and other students saying she’s on drugs or she’s faking it. My mom went to the vice principal last year about the bullying but nothing was ever done so I asked her so please quit and not to go any further because nobody believed me anyway. Due to an event that occurred yesterday on 9/13 I should have let her speak up. Yesterday morning I arrived at school overly stressed it’s my senior year but yesterday was a little hard it was the Second anniversary of my grandfather’s passing and he was taken from us too early. So it sent me over the edge and I had a seizure in the back of the school in my mom’s truck. A teacher and a student that has dealt with my seizures on many occasions were at the vehicle helping me from what I’ve been informed. There was no need for anybody else to be surrounding me, as there was already a teacher ,a student ,and the nurse. But the Principle which was the Vice Principle last year, After this I was helped to the nurses office. Then as I was coming out of my seizure which usually takes me around 30 minutes until I can fully understand what is going on due to the fact that I don’t have much memory of what happens after my seizure In the school is aware of this. They then decided they have a conversation with me from what I understand and ask me if I do drugs or if I was smoking weed and maybe that is why I am in a seizure. Then she asked me if they could search my mom’s truck knowing I’m not fully aware of what’s going on. I have never driven my mom’s truck to school before but she asked me to take it this morning. So as the principal and vice principal decided to search my car as I was in the nurses office. Nobody took the time to contact my parents to let them know what is going on other, than I had a seizure. Now I’m have to stand up for me my rights being violated. I felt they she took advantage of me bring incoherent do to my seizures. According to the Student Handbook if a vehicle subject to search is lock, the student will be asked to unlock the vehicle. If the student refuses, the school will contact the student’s parents. Because I would declined the search do to it not being my truck. That right was robbed from me. When I was coming out of a seizure. I’m a 17 year old senior that’s been in trouble with the school only one time with a vape. You could go to any teacher at the school that I’ve had and they would say nothing but positive things about me. They are willing to ruin my Senior year for taking my mom’s truck to school that morning. The school states they found my mom’s vape juice in the truck, two lighters, and also some green specks or seeds in the center console that they will test for marijuana. So I was suspended for three days while they completed their investigation. Today my mom went into a meeting with the school with the vice principle, the principal never showed up to talk to my mom during the meeting. They are wanting to give me 30 days of an alternative school for driving my mom’s truck. My mom asked for proof of pictures of the evidence of what they’ve collected. She also asked for test results. So she could see the proof of why I was being punished. After all this she was told she had to put this in writing. How can this school punish me with no proof of what happened? What happens to innocent until proven guilty? Where are my rights. We have read the school board policy and looked through the handbook and we cannot find anywhere where what they have done is right. Me as a student feel like the principal of Scurry Rosser high school, Heard I had a seizure that day and figured it was her chance to have a reason to search the truck to try to prove that my seizures were caused buy drugs. Because smell is not a probable, to anybody else there was no smell in the truck. I feel I’ve been discriminated against for having a seizure disorder. Because the school knows I go all summer without seizures and until I walk through those doors that is when I start having seizures and that should tell them something. Again, my seizures are caused from stress and anxiety. Not from drugs. I’m sorry I can’t deal stress like other. I live with my heart on my sleeve. But I know at the end of the day I know MY GOD HAS ME!!!!
