Supporting Andrew Ekene Nwankwo's family

On Saturday, May 16th, 2020 we lost our dearest and beloved Andrew Ekene Nwankwo. An amazing husband to his wife Ify, a doting father to his two daughters Kaima and Kamsi, and a loving son, brother and friend. We are still struggling to come to terms with his passing.

Ekene was a humble, easy going and calm person who loved and adored his family. He was a friend that you could count on.

Ekene contracted the virus whilst selflessly caring for his COVID postive patients at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford. He was compassionate, committed and genuinely loved his work as a nurse.

During his 5 weeks in hospital he and his wife Ify celebrated their wedding anniversary apart, hoping that he would recover and be discharged so they could belatedly celebrate together. But God had other plans.

Anyone who had the privilege to meet him would agree that he touched the lives of those who surrounded him with his love and humility.
