Tabitha first pair of hearing aids
Donation protected
Hello, I'm Tabitha,
I was told on January 17th, that I needed hearing aids because I have bilateral hearing lost past 25db range. After finding out that news I did what any person does and called the insurance company to find out if hearing aids are covered.
Sadly insurance doesn't cover them. I then spent the rest of my time looking into assistance programs for hearing aids and all of them I didn't not qualify for based on the income that my husband and I make.
My next option was to look into costco to find out how to get hearing aids. When I called them asking about payment plans they informed me it will be an upfront payment after seeing what hearing aid fit me best.
I did some digging around and found out hearing aids can cost anywhere between $1,600 (low end) to $6,000 (high end) without consideration of custom molding if need be. The average person spends about $2,500 for hearing aids. So I figure to ask for the average cost to at least help me out for my first pair.
I don't like asking for help, but after careful consideration I thought I try gofundme for this. If you can't afford to make donations I understand and greatly appreciate you reading my story. If you do make a donation. I greatly appreciate you for doing so. You are making my life more easier for this sudden transition into the world of hearing aids.
