SRA Fund for Victims of Christchurch Shooting
Donation protected
On March 15th, 2019, a white supremacist committed a vile terrorist attack on Muslims at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand. His attack was inspired by neo-nazi and white nationalist ideology. At time of writing the scale of casualties is unknown.
The Socialist Rifle Association is collecting money from its members and supporters to donate to the victims and their families. As socialists, and as gun owners, we have a duty to help those harmed by gun violence, and to stand in solidarity with the victims of reactionary hate crimes.
The SRA Central Committee plans to approve a contribution from the SRA's general fund of at least $500. In the spirit of mutual aid, we will donate all money received on this platform to a vetted aid organization or fund as soon as possible. We will publish a financial transparency report after the funds have been disbursed. The donation will be given in the name of "The Socialist Rifle Association Community".
