ASSAULT CASE , EMERGENCY HELP

Two nights ago at 7:02 pm, on Saturday, March 16th I was assaulted by my neighbor who lives in the apartment building next door. My lips is swollen and cut, two bites one on my right buttocks and left hand middle finger. I do not know this person. This was NOT a street fight. I do not know their name all I have is their description and again, I have been completely let down by the NYPD. Cops were called immediately but once they got there they claimed they couldn’t do anything other than knock at all doors in the apartment building and the aggressor wasn’t coming out. They told me I could either move out, wait for the detective to reach out as far as getting a warrant for an arrest, or call next time I see them.

Yesterday at 5:06 pm, the same person who assaulted me was outside of my house waving at me from my window while I was listening to music, as soon as I realized it was them, I called the cops immediately, and notified all of my immediate neighbors that I am in contact with and roommates to place a call. The cops did not show for an exact 1 hour and 25 minutes. I even called the detective that was assigned to my case. He hung up on me & so did 911. I called them 3 times, and in total they received about 5-7 calls of the same incident. The cops then arrived and told us that there’s nothing they can do and that I can only call them next time I see them & hope that they arrive in time. Pure neglecting, as somehow it wasn’t registered as a “priority”.

This same person has since been harassing me yelling “come outside bitch” at random hours, waving at me from my roommates window, literally waiting less than 30 ft away for what i guess is to finish the job. I don’t want to wait until I am dead for you all to be reading this as the cops verbatim told me today (i went to 2 precincts, 81st and 83rd) that this is a waiting game of timing and there’s unfortunately nothing they can do unless that person happens to be outside when they arrive.

My life is on the line here as far as safety. I not only have to deal with the emotional distress, trauma and ptsd of being beaten unprovoked at my own house, but have to fight an entire case with the NYPD who doesn’t seem to give a fuck about my life as they let me know today while looking me in the eyes. I am already shaken up by this as I don’t tolerate or promote violence, and let alone having to call the cops on someone who is black, trans, LGBTQ+ and legally deemed mentally unstable. Unfortunately this person has targeted cis women more than 3 times and still on the streets. This is absolutely unacceptable.

I am asking for mutual aid to help go towards my attorney fees, food, transportation for ubers (as I cannot take the train until they are arrested and I can get a restraining order) necessities and money towards finding new housing immediately.

This is me being so vulnerable right now, because the last thing I want to do is go to the internet to tell my business, especially during an entire genocide where all attention needs to be on those who are being targeted on a way larger scale. Honestly I already am experiencing ptsd and trauma from this situation while still fighting it and luckily I’m strong, but I truly need community and prayers now more than ever in my life and I ask that you please donate, reshare and repost!

We can’t keep letting NYPD and cops all over America dismiss the lives of black and brown counterparts. Please help me fight this!
