We are reaching out to you on behalf of our dear friends and neighbors, Roy and Dorothy Schneider. Many of you may already know Roy for his breathtaking photography that captures the serene beauty of Long Island’s landscapes. But behind those stunning images lies a story of unyielding love, courage, and now, a desperate need for your help.

Roy and Dorothy’s love story is one for the ages. From the moment they met in college, they’ve been inseparable, their bond only growing stronger over 40 years. But now, their beautiful life together faces a heart-wrenching challenge.

Dorothy has been bravely battling two aggressive forms of cancer, compounded by the relentless neuromuscular disease, Myasthenia Gravis.

A devastating reaction to her initial cancer treatment led to a Myasthenia crisis, leaving her hospitalized and confined to a bed for nearly a year. Her struggle has been unimaginable, with many of her muscles greatly weakened, and her future uncertain.

Through it all, Roy has remained steadfast by her side, pouring every ounce of love and strength into supporting her. But as he fights to maintain his job and manage their household, the financial strain has become overwhelming. The loss of Dorothy’s income, coupled with Roy’s reduced earnings and mounting medical bills, has left them in dire need of assistance.

The road ahead is fraught with uncertainty. Whether it’s relocating to a specialized hospital out of state or returning home with 24-hour nursing care, the costs are staggering. This is where we come together, as a community that has always stood by its own in times of crisis.
