Sri Lankan Relief Fund for Bomb Victims 2019
Donation protected
Hi all,
Ticket Of Love !
My Name is Shiral Alexander and I was born and raised in Negombo, Sri Lanka, where the recent Easter Sunday bomb explosions occurred. I currently live in Sydney, Australia and I have many friends living in Negombo Sri Lanka.
Ms Aniko Korosparti, Ms Cindy Luck and myself would like to help the children who are affected by this unfortunate event. We would like to show them that this world is filled with caring people. To do this, I have contacted my school mates in Negombo, Sri Lanka to identify who needs the most help so that we can ensure that our donations go directly to them.
My two friends in Sri Lanka, Dr Roshan Perera and Dr Namal Wijesinghe, are medical doctors who practice at the General Hospital Negombo. They have witnessed the effects of the blasts first hand as they were in the hospital saving lives at the time that the bombs occurred.
Most people who are affected by the bombings are families on very low incomes. Reports advise that more than 300 people were killed and over 400 more were injured during the 8 bomb explosions that occurred on Easter Sunday.
Our Plan is to raise $10,000 to help children and adolescents by providing them with access to medical treatments, psychological treatments and schooling. Dr Roshan and Dr Namal will work closely with Church priests to identify the most affected children and provide the treatment and care they need.
We want to ensure that every dollar will be distributed directly to the victims of the crisis. We will update you with more details as we progress and we’ll send photos of those receiving your donation.
We will match every donation by 20%. So if you donate $100, we will add $20 ourselves. This will result with a combined donation of $120! (this will be applicable till it reaches $5,000, after which I will find sponsors to continue matching).
We appreciate your generosity as Ticket of Love, we will update you with the Progress!
Your help will be much appreciated by the children of Negombo!
