Need help paying for car repairs

Alex here, with the last 12 months I've spent around £1200 on my car with various shit going wrong with it, and there's probably another large bill soon.

Now, yes, buying a new car because this one is most certainly costing more money than its worth sounds good. But I can't afford that right now.

Nor can I afford the huge bill that is incoming due to the brakes starting to fail. Its due its MOT and service in the next couple of weeks, and now there's definitely a problem that will cost money to fix.

I'm currently still paying off the last repair bill I had for the car, about 150 to go still*

I rely on my car for work and groceries, and I don't have a support network behind me, so, I turn to the Internet for help.

I had listed this as an emergency because it was rather time sensitive and I had over estimated the expense- its still a heavy expense, but I have decided to move it to other. It didn't seem right posting this under travel, as its associated with holidays/vacations, more than transport- any major issues with the classification and I will change it further.

I bought a bus pass that I used for the majority of three weeks. I'm rounding that expense down to £40, it was still cheaper and easier to buy it for 28 days than have to buy several weekly tickets and perhaps a day or so.

People have been fantastic and helped me cover a chunk of the prior bill and the bus ticket, but now its covering the rest of the prior bill, and the newest one, which, was thankfully less than I'd anticipated (I've lowered the goal amount to reflect that) but still puts me in a rather tight spot with winter coming up.
