Run 4 Haiti
From August 27th through September 10th, Pastor Jim Wiegand of The Freedom Center in Fenton, MI, ran 150 miles across the state of Michigan in an attempt to raise $16,500 to feed 33,000 meals for the children of Haiti.
Taking approximately 330,000 steps on this journey means that one meal will be provided to a child for every 10 steps taken.
Completing this run on his 50th birthday, he has asked that in lieu of any gifts or cards, that any money be given on GoFundMe to go directly towards feeding children in Haiti.
A team of 30 people from The Freedom Center will be traveling to Haiti this October from the 17th-24th to hand deliver the meals provided by these generous donations.
Since the initail run Pastor Jim has inspired many to continue on this journey. Members of The Freedom Center have begun to participate in raising awareness and support by making commitments and challenging others to do the same!
