SSAS Fundraising Project - Sponsor A Child In Tanzania!

Hello from Mr Miller and Miss Campion!

We are currently volunteering at the Bright English Medium School, which is located in a rural area of Tanzania called Loliondo.

We are so excited and grateful to be collaborating with the SSAS community to hopefully fundraise some money towards sponsoring children at this wonderful school.

Since arriving, we have witnessed first-hand the heart-breaking challenges these children face every day. We have also been left inspired by the hard work and passion every single person puts into this school to provide the best education and care they can. BEMS helps children who are vulnerable and live in poverty. They rely heavily on fundraising, as they are currently providing for up to 400 children, 300 of which live at the school.

We are amazed by the work BEMS do, particularly their strong emphasis on providing education and safety for girls in the community who otherwise would have limited access to education.

We are so excited to see all the creative and innovative ways that the children at SSAS come up with to raise money towards this project. We will provide updates on this GoFundMe of where the fundraising is being spent and the children/families who we are able to support with the project.

SSAS Fundraising Project:

To sponsor a child at this school, it costs £440 per year. This provides the children with education, food, clothing and a loving home. We have set the children of SSAS the challenge to try and raise enough money to sponsor 2 children, which would make such a huge impact. This would be roughly £2 raised per child at SSAS! We love that the children will be taking ownership of the fundraising and they should feel very proud of their selfless efforts.

If we manage to raise over £880 (sponsorship for 2 children), the additional money raised will be used towards our personal project of completing two new classrooms, which will create a safe place for over 120 children to learn, who are currently squeezing into two small classrooms. This will provide essential equipment such as desks, pencils, workbooks and much more!
