Helping Orphans in Ghana

Hi, I am Avni Gada. I was born in India, lived in Bahrain and Sana for couple of years and then moved to the States when I was 9 years old. I have seen my parents face several hardships so that I would have a roof over my head, food on my plate and a good education.

I always had the passion to help children in any way I can, to make a difference in their lives. I recently came across an opportunity to volunteer in an Orphanage in Ghana.

Rural communities in Ghana often don’t have access to proper childcare facilities. I would like to help address this by assisting with all aspects of early childhood education and by helping to make sure these children have what they need to develop and thrive. This is done in an informal manner, with less classroom time and with more support outside lessons.

I have hopes of raising enough money to buy necessities for the orphanage such as pencils, textbooks, etc. I will have a better idea once I am at the Orphanage on May 15th.

Your donations will go directly towards the Orphanage. My plan is to buy the necessities from the local market to support the local economy. For all the contributions received, I will be matching them dollar to dollar.
