St Andrews cycle for D of E

Donation protected
St Andrew’s Academy is a secondary school for learners who have a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities.
As part of our ambitious curriculum, Key stage 4 and 5 students have been working towards their Duke of Edinburgh bronze and silver awards. This award supports our students in developing independence, building on problem solving skills and learning new skills that will help prepare them for adulthood.
Due to the current financial climate students have decided to take on the challenge and raise the money themselves.
Staff and students are attempting to raise £5000 to buy new equipment and support our students in completing the expedition and contribute to transport costs.
From Thursday 30th to Friday 31st March, a member of staff will be taking part in a 300 mile bike ride, cycling to all the places we have been to during our training sessions. Over the same two days, our students will virtually accompany the cycle ride using exercise bikes linked to mapping software in the school hall.

If you are able, please donate any amount to support our students in being able to complete this incredible award. Anything is appreciated. Thank you for all your support along the way.
