St Aug New Orleans — Class of 1965 Endowment Fund
Donation protected
This GoFundMe was created by the St. Augustine Class of 1965 to provide scholarships in perpetuity. These scholarships will be awarded to deserving young black men who need financial assistance to attend St. Augustine High School in New Orleans, Louisiana.
St. Augustine is a college preparatory school for young African-American men founded by the Josephite Priests and Brothers. It enjoys the unique distinction as the top college-ready high school for black males in the United States.
St. Augustine graduates — Purple Knights — have built a legacy of serving as a training ground for leadership in New Orleans through academic excellence, moral values, and christian responsibility. More than 60% of St. Augustine students receive financial aid, so the need is great. Tuition and fees per student each year exceeds ten-thousand dollars. 100% of the most recent graduates received acceptance letters from 204 universities across the United States. Those graduates attracted more than 25-million dollars in college financial aid.
The Class of 1965 will help maintain this legacy of excellence and achievement by being involved, supportive, and committed to providing future students with scholarship assistance. Donations to this GoFundMe will be added to an endowment fund established by the 1965 alumni. All funds raised will go to the Saint Augustine High School Administration as the sole custodian of donations to help finance new generations of Purple Knights.
Donations are being sought from St. Augustine alumni from any graduating class, in addition to corporate benefactors, businesses, clubs, families, individuals, and communities. We invite you to share this fundraiser with anyone who may be interested in supporting these young men. Every donor will be posted on the Class of 1965 Website which we invite you to explore. All donations are tax deductible. The Class of 1965 thanks you in advance for your generosity.
