St James Seals Going to Olympic Trials
Donation protected
The St. James Seals Swim Club is an amateur swim club situated in Winnipeg, Manitoba. A vital part of the St. James community for over 50 years, the St James Seals is one of the longest running swim clubs in Canada. With approximately 100 swimmers, the team is made up of competitive and pre-competitive swimmers between the ages of 6 and 18. Our mission is to prepare motivated young athletes to maximize their potential as competitive swimmers, as part of a team supported by awarded coaches & involved parents.
This is the first time in 40 years that the St. James Seals have swimmers qualified for Olympic Trials. Currently FOUR of our swimmers have already qualified, and three others are also hoping to qualify before the deadline! Canadian Olympic Trials will take place March 30th to April 5th in Toronto, Ontario. The cost for each swimmer will be approximately $2000, including the cost of flights/lodging food, entry fees and uniforms. Our goal is to try and fully fund each of these swimmers, so they can focus exclusively on training and their performance at this once in a lifetime event.
The four swimmers qualified so far include:
Daniel Boguski 17, 2 time National Junior Championship Medalist and multiple Provincial Record Holder
Mia West 13 Multiple Medalist Canadian Junior Championships and multiple Provincial record holder
Matt Miller Finalist and Medalist at Can/Am Para Nationals
Payton Rerie Multiple finalist Canadian Junior Championships Member of Canadas Junior Open Water team
