St. Joseph School Needs Your Help!

Hello! We are the fundraising team (Team SJS) for St. Joseph Catholic School, known as the home of the Mighty Rattlers! This team consists of concerned parents and supporters of this small but academically powerful school that has helped us, our children, or someone we know, to achieve the goals of the school's mission. This includes successfully preparing students for secondary and post-secondary education, for becoming productive members of society, and helping those in need. 

St. Joseph Catholic School began in September of 1944 when four Dominican Sisters traveled from their Motherhouse in Wisconsin, and saw that there was a great need for both social work and education in Tuskegee, AL. The school started in a church basement with a nursery school and Kindergarten class consisting of 43 students.  The Dominican Sisters eventually expanded the educational program to include 1st through 8th grade. New buildings, including a cafeteria, were also added and are still used by teachers and students today. Since 1944, St. Joseph Catholic School has maintained a diverse enrollment with a student body consisting of a multiple cultural, racial, denominational, and non-denominational backgrounds.

St. Joseph Catholic school  will be entering its 74th year of educational and charitable service on September 19th. The school, which now has grades Pre-K through 8th, still provides a quality education in a welcoming and family-oriented environment. St. Joseph Catholic School continues to serve the local and global community through student participation in charitable activities. This includes collecting and donating items for disaster relief, children and families in need (locally and globally), and visiting the local nursing home to sing devotional songs and donate items that residents need. 

However, the school cannot continue to make such a positive impact on the students and the community without the funds that are necessary to remain in operation.

This is why WE NEED YOUR HELP! To ensure that the school continues to remain in operation, we are asking that you make a contribution to this campaign fund.

The current goal is to raise a minimum of $20,000 by December 2018. These funds will be used towards building maintenance, repair costs, technology enhancements, and the purchase of playground equipment.

*All funds will go directly to St. Joseph Catholic School, which is a 501(c)(3) organization. Therefore, donations are tax deductible.
