Where Learning and Wellbeing comes together

Hi there,

The Parents Association of St Josephs College Lucan is asking the School Community past and present to help create a very important outdoor space for the Wellbeing and Education of both current and future students of St. Josephs College Lucan.

 

The Parents Association have created this GoFundMe page to help deliver on the school's ambition to provide a special integrated outdoor space that incorporates Rosie’s Garden and an Outdoor Classroom. Every student in St. Josephs College Lucan will benefit from this area, facilitating learning, group work, student wellbeing activities and recreation time, all set in the fresh air.

 

Our mission is to provide a quality outdoor space that will stand the test of time; this can only be achieved with everybody’s support and contribution.

Plans are in the early stages, but the ambition is to have a working Outdoor Classroom in place for September 2022, integrated with Rosie’s Garden, which is currently taking shape. We have the vision and the space. We need your help to create the reality!

 

Joey’s Outdoor Classroom is currently at the design stages, with a view to providing a flexible and adaptable outdoor space for Joey’s students, co-existing alongside Rosies Garden while providing two independent areas that will dovetail together to give a special outdoor experience. The intention is to create an outdoor classroom that will provide for thirty students while observing the one-meter rule schools have been plunged into during Covid19. The area will be designed as a flexible integrated setting, future-proofing the space for years and decades to come. The intention is to have a floored space with a permanent roof that respects and compliments the area while providing a pavilion-style feel. Designs will protect against the elements to ensure the space can be utilised for as much of the year as possible without compromising the outdoor feel factor of what is expected to be a special place.
