St Martin & St Mary CofE School Swimming Pool Fund
Do you want to join us in making a difference? We are raising money in aid of ST MARTIN AND ST MARY CHURCH OF ENGLAND PRIMARY SCHOOL SWIMMING POOL and every donation will help.
We are so fortunate to have a swimming pool in our school grounds and throughout the summer term, children from our school and the surrounding schools benefit from weekly lessons. We also hire it out to two swim schools, meaning the community have access to local swimming lessons.
The school has recently been awarded £25,000 by Active Cumbria from the Government’s Levelling Up Fund to support the future of our pool, for us, our community and the other local schools who use it for curriculum swimming. The monies will pay for the installation of renewable, efficient heating systems that will reduce costs and make the running of the pool more financially sustainable. Some of the funds will also pay for a Development Officer, Emma Dobson, to increase the range of different community groups using our pool and subsequently the number of users. The overall objective is to create a self-financing resource.
The cost of running and maintaining the school pool has increased significantly and we hope to raise more money to improve the poolside area, seating for spectators and to provide some shade for staff working on poolside on our hot days. In addition, we hope to create a contingency for when things go wrong to secure the long-term future of our pool.
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us and to the local community.
