St. Mary Holy Land Pilgrimage: Chango Family

My name is Abigail Chango. I am the 3rd of 10 children. I am blessed to be part of a large family. I have been part of the Neocatechumenal Way since I was born. Two of my siblings and I, David and Ruth, would love to be able to attend a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. It is essential for every Catholic to go at least once in their life to visit the place where Jesus stepped foot and preached. Since there are 3 of us who would love to attend this pilgrimage, we are financially short of $2,750. It covers airline fees, accommodations, food, and other expenses. This is not tourism. My siblings and I will be announcing the good news in the streets and appreciate how God is helping us every day of our lives.

The reason for my letter is to address the fact that my siblings and I are $2,750 short to be able to have the blessing of visiting the Holy Land this summer. There are three Chango children who would love to participate in this pilgrimage to Israel, which St. Mary’s Catholic Church is hosting this July. It is a fantastic opportunity for young people to discover or discern the vocation the Lord is calling them to do in their lives. This pilgrimage is essential for my siblings and me to explore the Holy Land's history, culture, and spirituality, where Jesus walked. This pilgrimage will deepen the faith of not only my siblings and I but of the hundreds of youth that are also attending the trip. The two weeks that we will be in Israel will be filled with prayer, sacraments, eucharist, and witnesses.

That being said, we pray and hope that because of this challenging financial situation, my siblings and I will still be able to go on the pilgrimage. My family and I will pray and continue hosting food fundraisers, selling art, and asking for donations so my siblings and I can have a memorable encounter with God. Any assistance you can do to help my siblings and me in this time of need would be greatly appreciated.
