St Moluag's Coracle

St Moluags Coracle, and the new Crombie Burn Reader are Catholic newsletters from Scotland that brings you locally written content and resources that will build and inform your faith and also reveal Scotland’s Catholic past.

I began this because I felt there was a gap in Scotland for a Catholic publication that was written from and for those who live in Scotland. I also felt there was a widespread lack of knowledge of Scotland’s Catholic heritage. I wanted to create a platform for new and local writers in Scotland that could speak to our own particular circumstance and in doing so help Catholics in Scotland be able to share their own faith more confidently and live their lives with a greater devotion to God.  We have been going since April 2020 and have seen the subscribers list grow from 0 to currently around 120. Both newsletters are free and to make sure people can have access to the writing, regardless of their means, they will remain free for all.

Your donations will go to fund the start-up of a new charity governing the publications and will also pay for new and ongoing costs surrounding websites, domains and other related programmes. If you get something out of these newsletters and have the means to; please consider donating.


About Me and the Team

My name is Eric Hanna and I come from Northern Ireland but have been living in the Highlands since 2006. I originally came here as a missionary; part of a Protestant charismatic church and it was in this church I married and had two children. But then a crisis of faith inspired me to look at Catholicism and so in the fair city of Inverness, 2016, I became a Catholic.

There is a small team of people who contribute on various levels, stretched across Scotland, and each of them do so on their own free time alongside all their jobs, studies and family commitments. Some of them are Carers, PHD students, advocates for Religious Freedom, Environmentalists, Grandmothers and writers.  I personally feel very blessed to have such great people on board.
