St. Pauls Peel Churchyard Maintenance Fund

I believe the whole of Little Hulton will be brightened if you support this project. Whether you are a Christian or not, the Church of St. Paul Peel is at the centre of Little Hulton and it’s Churchyard is walked or driven past by probably most of its residents.
Our Church family are solely responsible for the maintenance of the Churchyard. This mainly means keeping the grass under control and the many paths clear and free to move along. We are an ageing congregation and although have we some new families joining us, we are overwhelmed with the task before us. It is a beautiful Churchyard but enormous. We are trying to pass responsibility to the Council for its upkeep, but it is a lengthy process. It is also going to be a costly one, because before they will take over responsibility, we must get it up to a safe standard. Meaning most paths will not only have to be cleared but re-laid. We seem to be going around in circles.
I am now in my 70’s and although have had support from the few members of the congregation who are able, relatives, friends and a few members of the local community, I am struggling to halt Mother Nature’s wonderous bounties.
I am appealing to you whether you have anyone buried in the Churchyard or are just a caring member of the community to donate towards this fund. I promise the money raised will be used to firstly bring the Churchyard back to its full glory but then to bring to fruition our plans to create a “Garden Of Remembrance” in the southern section. My Father and Mothers ashes are buried in the Churchyard and I will do everything in my power to honour them. If you have anyone in your family buried in the Churchyard, please support and promote this fund. If every family gave just a few pounds, we could pay local gardeners to complement the work that our small band of volunteers will continue to do.
