St Sidwell's Primary School - Enhancing learning

Donation protected
St Sidwell’s Primary School  urgently needs to purchase new resources for learning, both inside and outside the classroom. This includes new information communications technology equipment to support our children's learning alongside better provision for outdoor learning. Please watch the videos below that our children helped put together. These show how important the outdoor environment and IT resources are to their learning.

We know times are hard for many people at the moment, but any donation you can make, big or small, will help. Please share our fundraising page with your friends and family, and with any businesses you think may be able to offer their support.

Our Story
St Sidwell’s is a Church of England Primary School and Nursery, catering for children from the age of 3 to 11, in the heart of Exeter. It is a happy, supportive and successful school, where staff, governors and parents work together to ensure children get a wonderful and positive start to their lives.

Why are we fundraising?
COVID-19 has had a huge impact on our school, and everyone in our school community is working very hard to adapt. One area where COVID-19 has affected the school is in forcing us to cancel fundraising events, such as the school Summer Fair, International evening, book and cake sales. Not only are we missing out on much loved events that bring our community together, we have also been left with a large hole in our fundraising budget.

At the same time, switching to support children with home learning has further revealed the school’s need for better IT resources. Much of our IT equipment requires replacement and we need more resources than ever before to meet the growing needs of our pupils.  We want children to have regular use of laptops and tablets, with a range of software to support a balanced approach to learning across the curriculum.

Supporting our children's return to school premises this term has made us even more aware of the importance of our outdoor environment in supporting healthy, safe and balanced learning. As an inner-city school, we know the value of the school grounds for learning and play.  Being outside is important to a child’s physical, social, emotional, spiritual and academic development and well-being. We are keen to improve the school's outdoor spaces with new resources, landscaping and more input from specialist teachers.

Please note that any extra we raise will go into the school budget for other essential resources for the children at St Sidwell’s.

Thank you!
