St. Thomas Lower School Courtyard renovation
Donation protected
I am a member of Boy Scout Troop 43 in East Dallas, and I am currently raising money to fund my Eagle Scout public service project. For the project, I am repairing, power-washing, and staining the deck and bench in the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School Lower School interior courtyard. Currently, the courtyard contains heavily weathered boards with gaps and splinters that are hazardous to the young students. I will repair and replace all damaged boards, as well and cleaning and re-staining the whole deck area in order to create a pleasing environment. In addition to the deck refurbishment, I will beautify the surrounding bare dirt areas and deteriorated raised tree bed. This would include laying mulch and using mortar to repair the stone wall surrounding the raised tree bed. It would also include the replacement of a broken water fountain with a new, working one. Additionally, I hope to lay down flowers and other plants, to the degree that my budget permits. All donations in excess of my target would go toward enhanced beautification of the courtyard, and, once no more work can be done, 100% or any excess will be donated to St. Thomas Aquinas school.
